TELETEL successfully delivered its first EGSE for a Next Generation Payload Computer
TELETEL has delivered to a major European on board electronics supplier the first EGSE to validate a Next Generation Payload Computer. The EGSE is based on the iSAFT SpaceWire / MIL-STD-1553 / CAN Simulator product supporting coordinated tests execution (Python) over multiple Data Front Ends (SpaceWire, MIL-STD-1553 and CAN) plus additional custom HW and SW developments to validate the specific Payload Computer features.

New contract with SENER, AIRBUS DEFENCE & SPACE, THALES ALENIA SPACE, LEONARDO and other industrial and research partners in the field of space robotics
TELETEL has been awarded with a new contract (SIROM project) in the field of robotic handling of payloads in future space missions. Specifically, SIROM will realize a set of integrated and inherently optimised interfaces for mechanical, data, electrical and thermal connectivity that allow reliable, robust and multi-functional coupling of payload to robot manipulators or payload to other payload.
TELETEL in cooperation with Airbus Defence & Space (UK) will design, develop and validate a standard Data I/F connecting the data-bus systems of the individual modules. Candidate technologies include Ethernet (including variations, such as EtherCAT, TTEthernet), SpaceWire (and its variations, e.g. SpW-D, SpW-R, SpW-FDIR), SpaceFibre. Additionally, TELETEL will provide the EGSE for the validation of functional, performance and reliability requirements for the Data and Electrical I/Fs, based on its iSAFT Product Line and specifically the iSAFT Simulator and iSAFT Recorder instances.

TELETEL has been selected by Syderal (Switzerland) and Airbus Defense & Space France to design, develop, integrate, verify and deliver the EGSE for the IASI-NG Mechanism Drive Electronics (MDE).
The EGSE will allow to stimulate all MDE external interfaces and execute test scripts to validate the MDE design and manufacturing.
The MDE EGSE DFE will be based on the iSAFT SpaceWire Simulator product. The MDE EGSE Power and I/O Front Ends will be realised by COTS components and custom HW and SW developments. The MDE EGSE will be delivered to the customer in Q1 2017. An intermediate EGSE delivery based the iSAFT SpaceWire Simulator product will be made to Airbus Defence and Space in Q4 2016.
TELETEL will deliver cutting edge modular EGSEs for the EUCLID mission
TELETEL has been selected by Syderal (Switzerland) and Thales Alenia Space Espagna to design, develop, integrate, verify and deliver EGSEs for the EUCLID Antenna Deployment and Pointing Mechanism Electronics (ADPME).
The EGSEs will control the flight unit through their 1553 interface, simulate/acquire discrete TM/TC signals and perform closed-loop motor simulation through motor current acquisition, and simulation of position encoders and antenna deployment switch.
The ADPME EGSEs DFE will be based on the iSAFT MIL-STD-1553 Simulator product. The ADPME EGSEs Power and I/O Front Ends will be realised by COTS components and custom HW and SW developments. The ADPME EGSEs will be delivered to the customer in Q1 2017.

New contract for Application Software Development for the EUCLID mission
TELETEL has been selected by Thales Alenia Space Italy and ESA for the development of the EUCLID on-board Application Software, as subcontractor to Spacebel (Belgium).
TELETEL will be responsible for the development and validation of the on-board application SW components. TELETEL engineers will also support Spacebel during integration and validation activities in Liege, Belgium.
New contract with ESA in the area of SpaceWire / SpaceFibre on-board data networks
TELETEL has been awarded by ESA with a new contract in the field of SpaceWire / SpaceFibre on-board data networks, aiming to specify and breadboard a SpaceWire and SpaceFibre network routing function and to verify its quality of service at network level, in cooperation with STAR-Dundee (UK).
TELETEL will extend and use its iSAFT SpaceWire Simulator to connect (through both SpaceWire and SpaceFibre links), configure and validate the SpW-SpFi bridge, through a set of representative validation scenarios.
New contract with ESA to define the future satellite/spacecraft on-board network architecture
TELETEL has been awarded by ESA with a new contract in the field of satellite/spacecraft on-board communications to specify, design and prototype a new network paradigm fulfilling the needs of the distributed On-Board Software Reference Architecture (OSRA), in cooperation with Thales Alenia Space (France, Cannes), GMV (Spain) and Bright Ascension (UK).
TELETEL will extend and use its iSAFT SpaceWire Simulator as Front End Equipment at the demonstrator to emulate one or multiple End Systems connected via SpaceWire links to a LEON board and implementing the OSRA network communication concepts. The application software executed in the iSAFT SpaceWire Simulator system will be integrated with the TASTE environment towards simulating different nodes with representative traffic profiles.

New contract with ESA in the area of Serial Peripheral Interfaces (SPI) for specific on-board applications
TELETEL has been awarded by ESA with a new contract to support the standardization of the SPI interface as a future interface for specific on-board applications, such as microprocessor buses, sensor interfaces or partial reconfiguration applications, in cooperation with Thales Alenia Space (Italy, Torino).
TELETEL will design and develop Simulation Models for the SPI protocol(s)allowing for modelling of user topologies & use cases and the execution of simulations. TELETEL will also design, verify and validate an IP Core of the defined SPI protocol providing the user with seamless integration to its systems/SoCs with configuration options such as use or not of redundancy, CRC. Validation of the core will be performed through FPGA prototyping and through the use of the iSAFT Simulator environment.
TELETEL has successfully completed the MISSION project in the field of satellite/spacecraft on-board communications
TELETEL has successfully completed the MISSION FP7-SPACE-312746 project (www.mission-project.eu), where it has designed, developed and validated a representative ground demonstrator of a S/C on-board architecture for assessing the applicability of ARINC-664 (AFDX) technology elements over SpaceWire, as candidate technology for supporting deterministic data delivery.
It is expected that the project results will serve as major input to space agencies such as ESA, CNES and DLR, towards selecting the most appropriate technology for supporting deterministic data delivery in future satellite/spacecraft on board data networks.

TELETEL has been awarded by ESA with a new contract in the field of compression/transmission techniques for on-board applications, in cooperation with Instituto Universitario de Microelectonica Aplicada (IUMA - Universidad de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria) and Thales Alenia Space (Espana, Madrid).
TELETEL will offer its Spacewire expertise and IP Core subsystems in order to implement a representative on-board demonstrator of the new CCSDS Lossless Compression/Transmission techniques. The demonstrator will consist of a COTS FPGA board hosting the CCSDS 123 and CCSDS 121 IP cores plus the Spacewire related IP Cores which will be connected to TELETEL’s iSAFT SpaceWire Simulator, which will execute the various validation scenarios.

TELETEL will design, develop and validate a configurable SpW node IP core. The SpaceWire node interface IP core will include several SpaceWire protocol engines, represented by individual protocol IP cores (i.e. SpW CODEC, RMAP, CPTP, PnP etc.) and will allow customizing a fully compliant SpW node implementation to an application’s particular requirements.

TELETEL has been awarded a new contract (ASHLEY project, www.ashleyproject.eu) in the field of distributed avionics systems for multiple types of aircraft. TELETEL will design and develop the ASHLEY network validation platform in order to verify the functional and performance requirements of the ASHLEY framework. An extension of the TELETEL OMNET++ ADCN simulation tool will also be performed, in order to be further integrated in the ASHLEY toolchain.
New Contract with ESA and Astrium (Stevenage, UK) in the field of spacecraft/satellite on-board communications
TELETEL has been awarded a new contract in the field of spacecraft/satellite on-board data networks.
In cooperation with Astrium (UK) and 4Links (UK), TELETEL will implement FDIR/N-MaSS end-point protocols as well as an instrument simulator/analyser of telemetry/telecommand data sources.
TELETEL will also perform tests to verify the correct operation of an N-MaSS enabled end node, having as a target to demonstrate the bakcwards compatibility of N-MaSS to non N-MaSS enabled nodes.

New Contract with GSA, NSL and M3 Systems in the field of GALILEO PRS
TELETEL has been awarded a new contract (ULTRA project) in the field of GALILEO PRS.
In cooperation with M3 Systems (France, Belgium) and NSL (UK), TELETEL will design and develop an ultra low cost PRS receiver capable of addressing the low-end applications.
TELETEL will drive the user need analysis based on its experience from the PACIFIC project and will design and develop the secure communication subsystems required for the communication of the mobile device (PRS receiver) with the ground station.
New Contract with ESA, Delta Technologies and M3 Systems (France) in the field of spacecraft/satellite on-board architecture
TELETEL has been awarded a new contract in the field of spacecraft/satellite on-board data systems.
TELETEL in cooperation with Delta Technologies (Toulouse) and M3 Systems (Toulouse) will develop Basic Support SW for the SCOC3 Starter Kit board (provided by ASTRIUM), made of the BIOS, the I/O drivers, the operating system (RTEMS) and associated BSP (Board Support Package).
TELETEL will be responsible for the overall system Validation and associated Test Benches and will also provide support to cross-validation with the KERTEL board.

New Contract in field of communication networks currently used by First Responders in Europe
TELETEL has been awarded a new contract (HIT-GATE project) in the field of communication networks currently used by First Responders in Europe. In cooperation with Thales Communications France, AMPER and EDISOFT, TELETEL will design and develop a generic gateway that allows communications across networks currently used by first responders' teams including PRM, TETRAPOL, TETRA and many others.
TELETEL will design and develop the HIT-GATE Testbed, which will be used for testing and validation activities in laboratory and field environments, as well as for demonstration activities. TELETEL will also participate in the HIT-GATE product quality assurance to ensure that the HIT-GATE prototypes meet the requirements and the users' needs.
New Contract in field of virtualisation technologies for embedded systems
TELETEL has been awarded a new contract (VOS4ES project) in the field of virtualisation technologies for embedded systems. In cooperation with Universidad Politecnica de Valencia (Spanish University) and FENT Innovative Software Solutions (Spanish SME), TELETEL will study, design and develop a highly extendible, open source virtualization layer and a set of supporting tools, with high flexibility concerning its adaptation to specific requirements as opposed to existing proprietary solutions.
TELETEL will particularly design and develop the VOS4ES supporting tools framework, enabling the execution monitoring, control and debugging as well as validation and timing analysis of the guest applications.
New Contract with ESA and Astrium SAS - Satellites in the field of spacecraft/satellite on-board communications
TELETEL has been awarded a new contract in the field of spacecraft/satellite on-board communications, in cooperation with Astrium SAS - Satellites (France).
In the context of SpaceWire technology, the SpaceWire Working Group has tried to introduce evolutions in order to cover needs that were not addressed in the original protocol specification. This contract aims at further defining, designing, breadboarding, testing and validating new features, compatible with the existing standard.
TELETEL will perform functional tests, validating the new features and assessing their efficiency. Specifically, TELETEL will specify and validate the SpW protocol extensions for PnP support as well as the SpW protocol extensions for interrupt distribution support, Simplex and Half Duplex versions of SpW through "SpaceWire 1.1" devices breadboarding and demonstrations.
TELETEL participated in the 16th SpaceWire Working Group Meeting held in ESTEC Noordwijk on the 21st, 22nd and 23rd of March 2011
TELETEL participants presented the work performed within the Protocol Validation System (PVS) activity (ESTEC Contract no. 22256/09/NL/CBI-CCN3), which dealt with the analysis and evaluation of the performance issues of the SpW-D protocol (latency, efficiency, time-slot periods) through simulations and prototype implementations on TELETEL’s SAFIRE PVS SpaceWire platform.
A theoretical analysis of the protocol was presented for various combinations of time-slot periods, maximum payload size and link rates, identifying issues for consideration and proposing protocol extensions in order to overcome the problems identified per traffic profile. Furthermore, an analysis of various traffic profiles on theoretical network topologies, as well as in actual space missions, was also presented.
Implementation aspects of the SpW-D protocol on a prototype FPGA implementation were presented, indicating design metrics (e.g. gate counts, memories required for the implementation, maximum speed, etc.) and possible implementation difficulties. The presentation included an analysis of the results obtained from experimentation on the prototype implementation, along with a comparison against the results from the theoretical analysis and simulations. Recommendations for future SpW-D protocol evolutions concluded the presentation.
